Testing

The following are some of the tests we offer in order to pinpoint the root causes of our patients' health concerns.

Saliva Testing

For men and women. You will receive an evaluation report including your test results, details of your current symptoms, and an analysis of your hormone status. The test results will help you identify hormone imbalances, metabolic risk factors and overall wellness prior to the appearance of symptoms or disease. The results may also identify specific imbalances associated with symptoms, establish baselines prior to surgery or at the beginning of therapy, as well as monitor hormone levels while supplementing.

Saliva testing is a convenient, inexpensive, and above all, accurate means of testing steroid hormones. Scientific studies have shown a strong correlation between steroid hormone levels in saliva and the amount of hormone in the blood that is active or "bioavailable." It is this fraction of total hormone that is free to enter the target tissues in the brain, uterus, skin, and breasts.

Blood work is recommended if you have a PPO for your insurance provider as your PPO may cover blood work ordered by Dr. Austin.
